Annual Fire Safety Report

Other Pages In Campus Safety

The Higher Education Opportunity Act (Public Law 110-315) became law in August, 2008, requiring all eligible institutions that participate in any Title IV program and maintain on-campus student housing facilities to produce an annual fire safety report outlining fire safety practices, standards, and all fire-related on-campus statistics. Information contained in this annual fire safety report includes: number and cause of fires at all on-campus student housing facilities; number of fire-related deaths; related injuries; value of fire-related property damage; information on evacuation procedures; fire safety education and training programs; fire safety systems in each student housing facility; number of regular mandatory supervised fire drills; and policies on portable electrical appliance, smoking and open flames. Starting in 2010, it was mandated the report be publicly disclosed. The UCSB Annual Fire Safety Report can be viewed at http://www.ehs.ucsb.edu/files/docs/fp/2015-HEOA-UCSB.pdf. A hard copy document can be provided upon request by calling the Campus Fire Marshal at (805) 893-7751.
