GOLD System

The GOLD System (Gaucho On-Line Data) enables students to search for open classes by instructor, day and time, requirements satisfied, etc.; register for classes; update contact information; view registration information including class schedule, grades, and registration appointment times; and order official transcripts and enrollment verifications. The GOLD System is accessible at my.sa.ucsb.edu/gold/.

There are computers available for student use in a number of locations across campus (e.g., the Davidson Library and the University Center). These can be used for the GOLD system, student email, and some other computer applications.

Student Email

U-mail is UCSB’s student email service, to which all official University correspondence, such as registration information, academic department communications, housing notifications, and billing reminders, is sent.  Students are required to activate and maintain their u-mail account for the duration of their academic career at UCSB.  Although students may choose to forward their u-mail to an off campus email service, they are expected to check and maintain that account as they would their u-mail account.

Visit http://www.umail.ucsb.edu/ for service details.  To request help, submit a support ticket at http://www.umail.ucsb.edu/help, or contact the U-Mail Helpdesk in person at 1521 Phelps, by phone at (805) 893-5542, or via our help center at help.lsit.ucsb.edu.

Computer Labs

Students can have access to computers on a drop-in basis in COLLABORATE instructional labs when they are not scheduled for class use. Lab locations, descriptions, and schedules are listed at collaborate.ucsb.edu/spaces/labs, with daily schedules posted outside each lab.

Student Support Services

The COLLABORATE Student Support Center provides technical assistance for many campus instructional technologies, including software workshops, computer lab and printing support, the U-Mail Helpdesk, and support for UCSBNetID login to services including UCSB Wireless Web and GauchoSpace course sites. For assistance or information, visit our website at collaborate.ucsb.edu/services, call us at (805) 893-5542, get help at help.lsit.ucsb.edu/hc, or visit our help desks at Phelps 1521 and HSSB 1203.
