Taxpayer Relief Act
The Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 include a number of educational tax benefits which may have an impact on students and their families, and which require the University to report information on students to the Internal Revenue Service. For information on the specific educational benefits included in these acts, please refer to the 1098-T website maintained for students at the University of California.
Students or their family should contact a tax consultant or call the Internal Revenue Service to determine if they qualify for benefits under the provisions of the Taxpayer Relief Act or the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The University of California is not authorized to respond to tax questions.
