Effective Fall 2020 for new students, Dean’s Honors is given at the end of each regular academic term to students who have earned a 3.75 grade-point average for the quarter and have completed a program of 12 or more letter-graded units. Prior to Fall 2020, students who earned a 3.50 grade-point average for the quarter and completed a program of 12 or more letter-graded units were awarded Dean's Honors. (Grades of Not Passed automatically disqualify students for eligibility for Dean’s Honors.) Quarters that include an I grade will not be evaluated for Dean's Honors until a final grade is assigned. The Dean’s Honors award is noted quarterly on the student’s permanent transcript.
Graduating students of the College of Engineering who have achieved distinguished scholarship while at the university may qualify for Honors, High Honors, or Highest Honors at graduation.
