The Graduate Program in Management Practice is offered through the Technology Management Program, and is a certificate program for highly motivated graduate students at UCSB, seeking a sound introduction to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and business management. The primary goal of the program is to educate science and engineering scholars for success in management or entrepreneurial careers within technology-based companies. The courses are designed to complement traditional research-based training, and to better elucidate the constraints that markets and businesses enforce on technical innovations.
Requirements for the GPMP certificate include completing 16 units of specified course work and a management practicum, consisting of either a 160-hour internship with a local company or competing in the Technology Management Program’s New Venture Competition.
